The red missile switch provides power to the onboard microprocessor and MOSFETS. A plain toggle switch selects between manual and timed chilling cycles. When the central pushbutton is depressed, chilling is initiated. The bi-color LED above the pushbutton changes from green to red. Pumps start first, forcing coolant through the system. Fans then begin to spin, and shortly afterwards eight automotive relays trigger - each permitting 290 W of electrical power to flow into a thermoelectric cooling module. Each module has a dedicated fuse, as do the fans, pumps, and microprocessor. Yellow LEDs indicate the status of the fuses.
