A play featuring two characters, Willie and Winnie, “Oh les beaux jours” was written by Samuel Beckett in 1963. Beckett, a Nobel Laureate in literature, created a play, despite its complete lack of narration, plot or character interaction. (Winnie is up to her waist in sand, and Willie never faces the audience.) The show describes the opposing forces of pessimism and optimism that comes with age.
