4.500 is a foundational course in 3-D modeling that follows the process of designing a chair. Students begin by doing a three week long study on an existing chair then design their own from scratch to be made of flat, CNC-cut pieces. The main project is to design and fabricate a full sized chair inspired by a feeling.
