Largely borrowed from [3718] and other transactions in the rolled over mtg --- Subject:spurious mail from hostname.mit.edu -------- Hi, According to the central moira database, you are the owner of the Linux machine "hostname". This machine is sending a piece of mail to news@mit.edu every night reporting the status of an INN (InterNet News) installation you probably don't know or care about. We at news@mit.edu administer the central news.mit.edu server and also don't care about this INN installation, so in the interest of us not receiving spurious mail daily, can you please run, as root: rpm -e inn rm -f /var/spool/cron/news These commands will erase the inn package and then clean up after it by removing the news crontab file. Thanks! -- Nickolai Zeldovich.
