David is our President, and was Food Steward for 2 years. He is from Laredo, Texas and part of the 6-1 cult. He enjoys snacking on bread, and watching lots of TV (mostly over-dramatic soap operas, trashy teen shows, and any media with gay subtext).
Effie is our Treasurer. She is from the Bay Area, California and is a Course 4/4B (Architecture and Art+Design). She loves traveling, the outdoors, cabins, sports, and plants. Outside of schoolwork, Effie is the publication editor for Rune (MIT's art and literary magazine), an undergraduate representative of Architecture Student Council, works at the MIT Office of Sustainability, plays on the Women's Club Ice Hockey team, and is on the garden committee of UA Sustainability. Her best friend (Kedi, bio below) has determined that Effie's spirit plant is a cactus because she is “prickly and low maintenance.”
Kedi is our Paper Retriever (arf arf) and theoretical instagram handler. She is from Mason, OH but holds loyal roots to her hometown, Ann Arbor, MI (go blue!) and “has the personality of a white girl from California.” At MIT, she studied straight-10 (chemical engineering) and straight-4 (architecture), danced with Dance Revelasian and captained MIT's Asian Dance Team, and led the Trashion Show under UA Sustainability. After MIT, she hopes to go to grad school for chemical engineering to work on grid-scale batteries for a 100% renewable world!
Vivian is our Resident Peer Mentor from South Carolina and is a Course 3 (Materials Science & Engineering major). She loves sustainability - one of the founders of Waste Watchers, a part of UA Sustain, and a Terrascope Advisor, but she also plays violin in MITSO and tries to write stories. She is apparently sassy, but she thinks she's just honest. Her dream is for French House to build the tallest stack of pancakes in the world (the record is only like 3 feet, we could totally beat that) during Bad Ideas Weekend, but unfortunately, she'll just have to come back as an alum and help make it happen. #course3bestcourse
Jakob is our Friday cookteam leader. He has an unrequited and bizarre love of cabbage. His approach to food is perhaps a bit more intense than average, but feels that his chaotic and over-the-top menus (roasting a whole hog) really embody the French House Spirit. In his tenure as Chief Engineer of Rocket Team (you should join!) he became an expert in accidently making craters.
Kristin is our knowledgeable expert on changing majors. While she has tied her brother in total major changes, he has her beat in number of changes in a single semester. She is originally from Omaha, NE and is currently a 6-2 pining for 6-3.
Liz is the puppet leader of Tuesday cook team (See Itamar's bio) and was relieved that there were no attempted coups during the semester. She is also a proud member of the 6-1 cult and finds it weirdly comforting to be in 38-600 (an EECS Department Teaching Lab) surrounded by oscilloscopes.
Azzo is our pika spy. He is majoring in both majors least likely to get him a job (EAPS and writing) and enjoys making fun of Jakob in his spare time. His favorite hobby is napping and he probably has other hobbies but doesn't remember what they are. When not at pika or French House, he is always at ESG. He definitely won't mention The Gay Agenda. He definitely will mention that plants are cool.
