LMF Class of 2021

Image of Anupama Phatak

Anupama Phatak

Anupama is a vegetarian who used to hate vegetables. After a gag Secret Santa gift, she decided that some (sweet potatoes, zucchini bread) are tolerable. She is a Course 2, speaks questionable French, and generally takes way too many useless units every semester. In her free time, she sings with the Ohms, bakes 'healthy' things, and talks about that time everyone went to Israel. Fun fact: both she and her roommate are from Maryland!!

Image of Cece Chu

Cece Chu

Cece is our retired Vice President who makes bread and is an egg. She also thinks peanut butter onion mustard sandwiches are good. Do with that what you will.

Image of Landon Chu

Landon Chu

Landon i our Junior Food Steward (soon to be Senior Food Steward, god help us all), a former social member, and probably the last-ever LMF sports chair. He lives in Northern Virginia, majors in 6-3/is a sellout, and uses Linux recreationally. Landon is red-green color blind - feel free to make fun of him for it! He is also a member of Terrascope, does EE on MIT's solar car team, and is a vArsiTy aThLetE on the rifle team.

Image of Sarah Edwards

Sarah Edwards

Sarah is our (soon to be retired) Senior Food Steward. She's originally from Los Angeles, California and is joint-majoring in Course 20 & CMS. She can often be found in the kitchen baking for the house, but most of her 'free' time is dedicated to student gov. Aside from her role as New House president, Sarah also serves on Dormcon, the Committee on Student Life, and the Student Committee on Guidelines for Outside Engagements. She's also happy to answer any questions you may have about her other activities including (Lightweight) Rowing, Concourse, or the NEET program. Her best friends in the house are Cece Chu and Richard Colwell, though she loves all of her fellow 2021s. She also has the best littles in the house, Diani and Liliana.

Jamie Lertprasertpong

Jamie is our resident course 8 from Thailand.

Image of Tee Udomlumleart

Tee Udomlumleart

Tee is our sunshine. He was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand (trap nation). He has been interested in biology but MIT makes him realize that a Ph.D. in biology doesn't make him rich so he decides to add computer science to his bachelor degree (6-7). In his freetime, he usually goes to BSO, listening to new classical music he has never listened to before. He holds a strong opinion that Brahms > Bach >>> Beethoven. If you don't see him in French House, he is probably in the lab working with embryonic stem cells. He hopes that his research can shed light on how one zygotic cell can give rise to a complex human body. His archenemy is Jamie (bio above). He still wonders why everyone likes Jamie more than him.

Image of Lara Shonkwiler

Lara Shonkwiler

Lara likes to run. She will probably try to convince you that you like to run too. When she's not running, you can find Lara working on her 6-1 psets (signal processing!), stress baking, climbing mountains, or going to folk dances around Boston. Like her roommate Anupama, she hails from what is undisputedly the best state in the nation. If you don't know what the Maryland flag looks like now, you probably will soon.

Image of Richard Colwell

Richard Colwell

Richard is the President-elect and hails from the great dairy state: Wisconsin. He is proud to be part of Course 3 (#course3bestcourse), and after a (half) semester-abroad is LMF's Oxford English Dictionary. Outside of French House, Richard is involved in various organizations on campus including Terrascope and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Richard also has spent several years as an associate advisor and orientation captain. Finally, Richard is one of the few people in the house who actually speaks French… His best friend is SME and that's it that's the only person he likes in the house. But it's ok nobody likes him either.

Image of Grace Chuan

Grace Chuan

Grace is our resident true sellout. She is from the best state in the US: New Jersey but sounds like she is from California. Moved into LMF as a junior after being accused of coming to LMF dinners too often as a guest and making a substantial dent in LMF's food budget. Grace is a 6-14 and is involved in numerous activities such as the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Chorus, Undergraduate Economics Association and sorority Alpha Chi OMega (AXO). She previously was a peer mentor for Mccormick hall, associate advisor for Concourse, and co-chair of the UA Public Affairs Committee.
