Teaching

I regularly teach graduate and undergraduate classes on Learning Theory and Machine Learning at MIT and in  Italy. In particular I regularly teach the following  classes:

Term Long Courses

• 9.520 Statistical Learning Theory and Applications, with Tomaso Poggio. This is a term long course of roughly 25 lectures offered to graduate students at MIT.

• Machine Learning, This is an introductory term long course of roughly 25 lectures offered to udgraduate students at the University of Genova.

Short Courses

• Regularization Methods for Machine Learning, with Francesca Odone. This is a one week (crash) course of roughly 12 lectures, including theoretical as well as practical (matlab) sessions. In many regards is a shrinked version of 9.520. It is held in the summer at the University of Genova and is open to gradute students of any nationality. The course has steadily increased in attendance with a peak of 85 participants in 2013.

• MLCC: Machine Learning Crash Course, with Francesca Odone. This is a one week (crash) course of 10 lectures, including theoretical as well as practical (matlab) sessions. The first MLCC has taken place in Genova, Italy. .
