Robert Levine is Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics at Ohio State University. His research interests include theoretical syntax, unbounded dependency constructions, stylistic inversion, locality, and constraint-based formalisms. He received his B.A. from Columbia College of Columbia University and his Ph. D. from Columbia University . Recent papers include (with Ivan Sag) “Wh Nonmovement,” in Journal of the Linguistic Society of Japan; (with Thomas Hukari and Michael Calcagno) “Parasitic Gaps in English: Some Overlooked Cases and Their Theoretical Consequences,” in Parasitic Gaps (MIT Press); (with Peter Culicover) “Stylistic Inversion in English: A Reconsideration,” in Natural Language and Linguistic Theory; and “The Extraction Riddle: Just What Are We Missing?,” in Journal of Linguistics.
