Lodz, 25 May 1924 Devoted, esteemed and beloved nephew, Sol Zissman, I received your letter, dated April 17th, after some delay. For example, two days earlier I had received a letter from the bank in Cracow that $150 was sent. So your letter and the money arrived at the same time...today, the 24th of May. Dear and devoted Sol, your money found me, your uncle, in such a state that I am unable to describe it in a postcard. I was more interested, however, in your letter than in...(your money). Your letter made such an impression on me that more than one tear fell. My wife and children also cried when I read them your letter. I have much to write to you, devoted nephew, but I wanted to write you a postcard to reassure you and to let you know that I have received the money. In a few days I will write you a long letter in which I will describe everything to you. At the moment, I am a bit overwhelmed at the surprise. I don't know whether it is a dream or reality, but I think that it is reality. With this I close my writing. I send heartfelt regards to yo and your fiancee.
