(was: Re: Filler: Friday Musings and honesty on the 'Net) On Fri, 23 May 1997 11:55:22 EDT, "S. Moskowitz" nodded: :) Your 'Net community is just a group of people like any other. You deal :) with them slightly differently than you'd deal with your painting class :) buddies, than you'd deal with your inlaws, than you'd deal with your :) children, than you'd deal with your professional contacts, than you'd deal :) with your church potluck organizing committee, than you'd deal with the :) members of your garden club. That's not dishonesty, just plain old social :) skills. So! Part one--Something has happened to you! Pick a problem, conflict, whatever you like...suppose you lost your job, learned you had a terminal disease, or faced any of the other stress points that are likely to set off quakes and buckling in the tectonic plates of personality. Part two--show us how you present that to your net community, your painting class buddies, your inlaws, your kids, your professional contacts, your church potluck organizing committee, and your garden club. Feel free to have us "caught" in some ambiguity or contradictions as we change the story to suit the setting... Part three--don't forget to show us how you "really" feel about it. A diary entry format? What about chunks of dialogue? Up to you, just make us hear the tremors and blinks as you tread the social boards in this little playhouse of your life... and you thought this was just idle chitchat? tink
