NO CRITIQUES NEEDED!) tink That Wonderful Day Copyright 1994 Mike Barker The announcer's voice ran across the network. "Ceiling is clear to infinity. Flight 123-456-789 leaving from Farmer Sier's barnyard in the Little Apple, Manhattan, Kansas!" The knobby legs cantered for moments across the dust, then relaxed and hung down as the flight took off. The stubby tail flicked and flopped above the strong brown thighs. The long brown ears slanted back in the slipstream. Bill rubbed at his eyes and shook his head. His other hand was locked, white-knuckled, on the safety rope across his thighs. The long lashes blinked twice over the black eyes. Then the lips curled back, and the donkee brayed with delight. Strong white teeth flashed in the sunlight. Bill gnashed his teeth. "I didn't mean like this!" he muttered into the handkerchief he held in front of his mouth to keep the bugs out of his teeth. And he tapped and he rapped at the keyboard slung across his lap, on that wonderful day. ----------------------------------------------- - So one of these days, a flurry of critiques is going to find their way - out of my computer and to the list-- probably on the same day donkey's - learn to fly!! so where's those critiques, bill? -----------------------------------------------
