Today we may be lucky enough to see a true rarity, the tweaking of a crested-tailed phascogale. While such tweakings are supposed to be common in the frozen northern wastes, they are hard to find in the surf along the great Barrier reef. Probably because the funnel-web spiders siphon all the good liquor out and down into Harvey Wallaby's. You haven't lived until you've had a funnel-web shoved into your trap and a litter or two of Wallaby's poured down. Top it off with a Foster's, mate! As I was saying, we set off, waddling because the numbat caught us in a rather delicate position when the headmaster got upset yesterday. Stood us up against the wallaroo, swung that numbat right into the dugong, and the old echidna hit the wombat, don't you know? What about bandicoot? Not now, I'm taking these thylacines on a bit of a dalgite hunt. They're bound to get the woilie up, but that's what the noolbenger paid for, and that's what they're going to get. Although a bandicoot around the dugong does sound better than listening to the thylacines boggle, don't it? So, after a long hard day chasing wild boomarang and dodging lame jokes, there's not much chance that we'll see the tweaking of the crested-tailed phascogale today, which is a right shame, it is. Quite a bird in some ways. G'day, mates. And if you get a chance, you give that crested-tailed phascogale a proper tweak. Then listen for the roaring. Almost like a lullaby, it is. Candy and babies... ------------------------------------------------
