In which our heroes ...
Orhan 2 Day 35 TE 6061
One full Lat. (5 lesser and 1 greater shards.)
Shard DB is 50 if you can predict the exact hex the shard will be in.
Though it still wins initiative and attacks you first. If you don't predict
correctly, it's DB is 100xpace.
We activate our dodecahedron crystal.
The shards back us up against the chasm (made from Oathar's unfortunate
prayer in the direction of Charon durig the lunar occultation) and attack!
Oathar tries to guard a flank with a stun cloud.
Imre hides in a tree with his smell illusions since Kyrik said they target
by smell.
The stun cloud doesn't actually prevent then from firing their bone shards
through it so we take hails of missile fire every round. Imre mass limb
breaks them, but most reflect it and both Imre's arms break. We finally
manage to figure out where one is going to be and pummel it a bit, but
then it runs off.
We run around hitting each shard once before we need to switch to another
one since they move. Meanwhile, we bleed like mad! Mad!
Finally as we are about 75% down on points, we take the first of the
lat down.
After pummeling us for a long while further, they become annoyed enough
that they surround us at point blank range, which increases our damage
intake, but also let's us attack whichever one we want, and we manage
to take down a second one.
Then we take a horrible turn for the worse as Oathar goes down, DEAD!
DEAD! His soul starts thinking about departing his body as all eyes turn
to Imre. With Oathar's soul punted from the crystal, hundreds of hit and
power points fall out of the ritual and suddenly things are not so spiffy
wiht the party's hit points.
Blind with rage, Haeraan attack the Greater Shard alone. Alynna and Kyrik
finish off one more lesser shard. Still with three shards to deal with,
Haeraan and Kyrik and Alynna desperately engage while Imre abandons his
stealth and heals the party like mad. Haeraan finishes off the leader,
while Alynna and Kyrik attack one more.
With only two shards left, Alynna takes one down and Haeraan finishes
the other.
Imre braves the essense storm to leave over to Oathar and trap his soul
in his dead body.
