In which our heroes ...
Orhan 2 Day 1 TE 6051 (Continued)
Having spent a profitable month at Gryphon College spending their EPs
and stuff, our heroes decide it's time to set off. But, before they do
that...
Jack is experimenting in the yard one day, tying to perfect his mental
communication with D., when suddenly he starts talking to a "charming
female voice" that pops into his head. He claims that he only gets
two guesses at who sent her to him. He tells D. (who gets Haeraan) and
tells them to knock him out if he does anything crazy. His guess #1 is
Shaal, god of the sea. Ha, ha.
Thinking, "This is bad," Jack corners Imre and asks him if
he's possessed. Imre doesn't think so.
Meanwhile, Haeraan is noticing some strange creature coming and landing
at the college in the dead of night. Anton says its best we not inquire
about them.
To distract us from that, Anton gives us a mission briefing. He'd like
us to check out the mutant forces of Fraylik, and see what's up with all
of that. We'd have to go to Zor, which is just to the North. We'll have
to check out the subterrainian culture of the mutants of the wasteland.
Anton suggests capturing a few and interrogating them. Or we could go
to the rear of the army and capture some messengers.
Haeraan and Oathar wants to head around the army and grab the messengers.
We leave in any case, and discuss the matter as we go. Kyrik worries
about being spotted by both sides. He thinks the army of Rakhan might
try to recruit us if they see us. Nobody like Oathar's idea that we pretend
to be adventurers looking for the lost crown of Zor. Haeraan thinks we'lll
get captured and interrogated no matter what we do.
We decide that we're just going to say we're on the business of the Church
of Rianne, and ignore people who try to capture us.
Anton gives us a week's worth of food and sends us on our way....
Orhan 2 Day 5
We avoid some patrols.
Orhan 2 Day 8
We hunt and trap a lot. We find a group of 6 lugraki walking along. One
of them has four arms. We're just entering enemy territory. We start sneaking
around them. Then we think, "Hey! Let's get them." First, we
start recon-ing in front of them a little to make sure there's not more
close by. We prepare the ambush of ranged attacks and lance strikes.
We charge. They notice us at 400'. The four armed one immediately pulls
a mace, a sword, a shield, and a javelin. He yells at the other five,
who form a line in front of him. Imre and D. sleep and mind shock the
big guy. He falls over and starts shaking.
We pound on the little guys from range since Kyrik fumbles his lance
attack. After some more small guy pounding, the big guy gets up and throws
his javelin at Oathar, but Imre deflects it. We subdue most of the little
guys as Kyrik gets his act together. Haeraan charges the big guy. The
big guy savages Haeraan's arm. Oathar kills the big guy with a shock bolt,
and then everyone yells at him.
People tie up the remaining little guy. Imre fixes Haeraan arm, and Jack
wakes up the little lugraki and starts asking Questions. He's due back
soon. His camp is two hours walk away. There are 20 mutants back at his
camp. He's not working with humans because he hates them. They're in the
Horned Devil tribe. They're not working with the Unlife, or so he says.
When we ask him how many lugraki are in his camp, he says, "A years
worth." They hate demons too. They're working with the Winged Devil
and Bone Gnawer tribes. Their camps are nearby too. The horned devil trivbe
moved last month. His name is Ogg. His tribe's leader is names Grizzit.
The big guy is named Mogg.
Orhan 2 Day 9
We move along. Some people hear some horses. D. scouts up the hill and
sees four riders watering their horses. Three in mail, one not. Sadly,
they spot D. and sleep her. She ride up her hill and grab her. We see
this and the chase begins. We get up close and Haeraan and Oathar cast
some things, but they don't help.
We chase him all around tarnation, but eventually he calls upon his dark
god who teleports him and D. way far away. We turn to chase the knights,
but Imre says, "No! Chase D." so we do this useless thing...
