In which our heroes ...
Orhan 5 Day 1 TE 6061
Now it's time to go on the offensive. We must accompany the "bothan
spies" and bring them to the border of Lankonok. Once they get there,
they'll be picked up by another group, and escorted into Lankonok where
they will change the enemy orders. Our spies are Alice, Bob, Charlie,
and David.
They give us some new healing potions and a simple map of where to go.
Follow the river for 3/4 of the journey and then strike out on our own
towards the border.
We get a good night's sleep, and then head off.
Orhan 5 Day 2 TE 6061
Newmoon takes point, we ride off. Newmoon smells the smoke of a cook
fire up ahead. The Hrazi also smell something cooking ahead. He also finds
tracks of deer and a deer hunter. He starts stalking ahead carefully.
He discovers three Lankani soldiers eating deer over their campfire.
We decend upon them, and start dispatching them quickly, putting one
to sleep to interrogate. Sadly, the last one stabs the sleeping one and
offers his companions up to the dark gods to save him. Flames surround
the body, and clawed hands reach up out of the earth. Sigh.
Four demons come out of the pit and start working for the bad guy. After
th edemons, horrible phase spiders start emerging from the pit every round.
We start trying to kill the bad guy, in order to close the pit, but he
just won't die. We manage to chop off his arms and legs and stab him in
the kidneys a lot, but somehow, he manages to survive a few more rounds
releasing a few more spiders before the pit finally closes at his death.
The spiders start shimmering and fading out. We manage to kill a couple,
but at least two of the phase spider like things escape to menace the
countryside.
We camp.
Orhan 5 Day 3 TE 6061
Nothing happens this day either, so we camp again. Out of the rivers
pop out two bluish female forms with diaphanous gowns.
The nereids come out to seduce the men. Kyrik resists, and Sand resists
after his wife wakes up. The other two men take off with the nerieds.
Kyrik follows along to keep tabs on them. Sadly, after a while, their
wiles start getting to him too, but he manages to hold out.
Orhan 5 Day 4 TE 6061
In the morning, Newmoon and Brother Elk are on the shore of the river
wet and tired. Kyrik is grouchy. Everyone else starts packing up and heading
out.
While scouting ahead, Newmoon notices something odd ahead. It appears
to be the remains of some sort of sacrifice site. After examining the
tracks, Newmoon decided that a mob of people came here, staked a vampire,
and then headed back towards the south.
As we pass the town, Newmoon heads in to investigate. A kid tells him
what's up. A vampire was caught there last night, so now the villiagers
are gathering up all the witches, sorcerors, and warlocks in town to burn
them. Newmoon thinks this would be a good idea, but ther're probably hysterical.
In the center of town are several prisoners in wooden cages. Looks like
there will be a burning tonight...
Sand convinces the party to head into town and try to reason with the
populace. Lot's of public speaking and lie perception rolls later, they
manage to convince the populace to stand down and release the falsely
imprisoned innocents. Yay! We proceed south.
Orhan 5 Day 8 TE 6061
We come to the place where the feeder river blocks our path. There's
only one good ford in this area. Plank to an island, then a rope bridge
to a better island, then a bit where you have to wade.
Sand notices something in the water and heads under to check it out.
There's a giant river worm down there. We carefully get everyone across
the ford without attracting its attention.
