In which our heroes ...
Orhan 1 Day 1 TE 6062
Taxes are paid all around...
Some more shopping occurs.
Gired Jan sends us a packet of stuff. His research indicates that there
was an old Emerian base on an island near the Bay of Izar. Filled with
technologies and riches and terrible defenses. A good place to look for
lenses.
Imre and Nusmoi go on their honeymoon.
Orhan 1 Day 10 TE 6062
We prepare to head to the Bay of Izar. Neela's Breath sounds
like a good ship. We take it! Or, we try to, but then suddenly fate intervenes.
Nusmoi and Arisia invite themselves along and Arisia declares we'll be
taking the Skyship Pegasus instead. Oathar does some quick piliticing,
but Arisia defeats him, and they agree to set sail right after Imre's
honeymoon.
Orhan 1 Day 14 TE 6062
We see a floating castle in the sky, which Kyrik thinks is the storm
wizard's castle in the sky. Normally, the only way to find him is to impress
him and have him find you. We divert and attempt to pursue. It retreats
into a cloud bank and we lose it. Darn. We were hoping to ask him where
the true heir to the Emerian empire went.
Orhan 1 Day 21 TE 6062
We arrive in Sarnac. Wait! Why are we going to Sarnac? Oh no! Yup, we
find ourselves in Sarnac. We drop Arisia and Nusmoi off in Sarnac and
continue on to our goal. The island west of Sarnac has a Sarnaci watch
tower and is under Sarnac law. We choose not to land.
Let's keep looking. There are essentially two islands in the north of
the bay and two in the south. Kyrik considers things for a moment and
decides the clear thing to do is visit the western most of the southern
islands.
Orhan 1 Day 23 TE 6062
It's a small island 10 miles across. We set the boat down near the shore
and start heading inland towards the ruins in the center of the island.
We search around the island and can't really find anything. Sunset approaches.
We all put our rings of the orders on. Suddenly we can see passages leading
down into the ground. We decide to wait and try the passages in the morning.
That night the unquiet dead show up during the night. They head towards
the ruins from the shore. We move to the edge of the ruins. We watch as
the ghostly lights from teh shore attack the ghostly lights of the ruins
in ghostly combat. Haeraan considers how to put this mess all to rest.
There is one lone light in the village behind the lights which are all
fighting each other at the edge. Then the light in the village moves back
and away from all the other lights. It leaves the area, so we follow it.
Back at the other end of the ruins is a whole nother bunch of lights.
The one light goes back there, and let's all the other invaders in. TREACHERY!
Then the defenders are all smote. Darn treachery. At the end, the invader/victors
present the treacher with several big chests of gold who sails off to
the north. We decide to deal with him later.
Orhan 1 Day 24 TE 6062
We sleep in. Imre and Haeraan spend the day investigating the ruins.
Kyrik pokes around some too. Oathar spends the day preparing the crew
for chasing ghostly lights across the water at night.
Haeraan finds a buried panel of something buried beneath one of the floors.
He pries it up. Underneath is a small room with two skeltons in there.
Imre is called in to put them to rest more than they are. He heads down
there and finds ancient parchments. "Fezzik, soon the time will come
to earn the money we have paid you. Be prepared. soon we will come."
It was written by the warlord of the highland. It was written about two
hundred years ago in Jantanen, a city to the east of the islands. The
skeleton discovered what Fezzik was up to so got lured down there and
poisoned. The warlord of the highland was ultimately responsible.
That night we watch the battle and sail off following the ghost. He heads
north and then cuts west and lands on the shore of the southern tounge.
He stops and the ghost fades away in the morning. Kyrik, and Oathar find
the cave. We head in. No, Haeraan declares that there is a Lich in there
so we put up defenses first and then head in.
We fight! He's pretty well buffed for a sorceror-lich. Gah. He casts
"DEATH" at Haeraan. He resists. His Bladeturn IV is quite pesky.
Gah. We chop. He finally goes down.
There's a pile of treasure and a large stone chest. Oathar says the stone
chest is clean. Opening it up, it's filled with cursed gold coins. The
curse came from the warlord of the highlands....
The rest of the treasure contains:
- A Napsack: with a childs doll, a faded sketch, a smooth polished stone,
etc...
- Jewels: 5000gold
- Coins: 7500gold
- A Small Polished Wooden Box: There's a orb inside with swirly blue
light inside. (Talk to ghosts, bring you back to when the ghost died.
One use only.)
We try to decide what to do with the chest. We fail.
