In which our heroes ...
Orhan 3 Day 46 TE 6064
The high priestess takes us to hear the soothsayer with the gift of prophesy:
"There is a hole in my mind. It howls with the wind and pulses
with the Absense of hope. Obtain the advice of the elder mind. Find the
scribblings of the one who was once dark. Find the guardian of the town
of the double headed bridge. Once you have obtained that which is less
than nothing, find the lair that is the forsaken twin to destroy that
which is nothing with its Absence."
Translations:
- Elder Mind: in Iruaric this is translated as Daenku
- Once dark: guess who this is (has an estate in Tanara
- double-headed bridge: Rapata (bridge town)
Imre goes to Nomikos and rolls a 100 (unmodified) so hits the motherload.
We get a pile of info to digest. Many pages of prophesy and old reports.
It's totally unclear what is relevant to our problems.
We find out that Rapata has a large Quaidu population. They're a little
odd in appearance. Quaidu have white eyes. They'r enative to Ulor and many
of them serve Lorgalis.
The northwesternmost island is "tower of blue glass". There are also "isle
of lost magic", "isle of bridge caves", "guarded roads", "green coast",
"caves of ice fire", and "death hammer". (The isles of blue light.)
The HQ of two of the orders of the priests arnak are in the area too.
They were both designed by the white dragon lord. They're very similar,
almost like twins.
We request stuff about the region from the loremasters and get a general
briefing about what's going on there. There are shards. Sigh.
Orhan 3 Day 57 TE 6064
We take the skyship to Rapata. There are several ships from the Duke of
Ixbridge (Rahkaan) there. As well as a skyship of House Elgata.
We set down at the Eastern Docks. Oathar heads into the Administration
tower and gets a pile of liscences. Oathar get business licences. He also
gets a reccommendation for a nice place to stay. We head to the southeast
quarter, Blue Rock Hill. We cross the canal and find a big gate. It's a
gated community for snooty people. Oathar is a licensed businessman of
means though, so they let him in. Lot's of luxury goods here. He suggests
The Light of the Moon. It's a like a giant mansion with moonbeams of Orhan.
Imre takes the servants down to the the skyship for the luggage, while
the rest of us check out the Royal Suite (includes breakfast, dinner, two
servants, etc. for 30gp/day).
Imre checks out the wyvern bridge. It's darned cool.
Over in five moons square is a giant Orrey. It's non-functional, but we're
told it's supposed to start up again as one of the signs of the apocalypse.
There's plentiful gem mining in the mountains to the north. Alynna spends
a couple hundred gold on bracelets and the like for her niece.
Alynna goes bard shopping by visiting taverns. She gets pickpockets and
chases the pickpocket. She gets his bag of possessions, but he gets away.
The bag of possessions contains a mysterious note indicating that the place
will burn with blood. He's got lot's of stuff. There's a scroll of levitation,
and a ring of invisibility 1 1/day. Hesla wrote the note at the rose garden.
The little orb came from the Isle of Lost Magic, probably only intrinsically
worth 10 gold. It's the original Tiliok from the Orrey. It hasn't moved
for as long as anyone can remember. The handful of rose petals has a cultural
significance of a handful of rose petals -> The Brotherhood of the Four
Roses (created by Lorgalis, but now supposedly independent).
We search for Niko Rakanna and Vana Nastrath, local loremasters.
Oathar makes contact with someone who can lead us to them. We should go
to Lagaran Varsenne who runs a small gem shop.
