IT IS DONE!!!
Orhan 2 Day 45 TE 6065
We putter.
Projects are working well.
Down in Kaitaine construction continues on Oathar's temple. Sadly, there are Alliance sabateurs mucking things up now and then. We took away their compass factory, and stole their demi-plane so they can't invade, but they are making life hard for Kaitaine with minor annoyances.
Sarnak is still expanding and moving up against Arakin and Izar.
Brotherhood of the Holy Word is still digging up Votania.
Our friend the arms dealer wants to know if we still want to sell nuclear grenades.
Quellbourne is awesome. We discuss what to do with it in the long term. Perhaps the base of our alchemists and other artisans.
We finished the colluseum and now need to start building the inner palace to restore the Emperor.
Oathar gives up on getting an Orb of Rebirth and starts a lake with the Swans of Ithis Tinuvia at the site of his capital in Zor.
Imre and Haraan issue formal declarations that they are not riding herd on us any more. Oathar is enlightened, Alynna owes her life to Cay, and Kryik.... um... he's probably just going to go bad, but heh, it no longer our official position to prevent that.
Oathar starts negotiating for a 5 TW generator. He could get me one legit for something like 25 million credits. Perhaps 8000 pounds of gold. Call it 80-85 gold. Oathar tells him to start making the preparations, but it will take a while to put that kind of money together. Oathar starts making the round sin Kaitaine looking for investors, etc.
We dispatch Shar to Sarnak and Nimble and Whisper to The Alliance to tell if there is a way to slow them down against Kaitaine. Our main goal is to get a handle on Alliance activities and look for ways to slow them down and thwart them. We also dispatch Kyrik's evil magent to the Isle of Fire to find out what's going on. Our doobies (like Tess etc). are all up to 10th level now, so they are getting pretty good.
The Xanaduum arrives! Oathar puts it in to a boat dock. The crew is bedraggled, and the ship is damaged. Oathar gets the ship crew rested and sets them up for repairs.
Orhan 3 Day 45 TE 6065
Nynaku has put a no movement spell on the entire island. No teleporting, flying, short door, anything. The only access is through a small village at the shore. It's pretty well guarded. The path up to the temple is a single narrow path up the side of the mountain. You must face the Guardian. It does not sleep. It does not rest. It sees invisible. It detects things, etc. It's mostly an alarm though, but there are rumors that it consumes helpless victims and is fiercesome. It's unclear. Even as an alarm it' sa problem though, as once you are alerted halfway up the mountain with no movement spells, it's pretty difficult to defend yourself if they start tossing rocks at you. Once you are at the temple, getting around hidden is not so hard. The Guardian is some sort of construct.
Oathar looks around for one of best climbers around. Oathar hears of a great climber, but sadly, Alynna discovers that his funeral is tomorrow. Oathar looks for one of the second best mountain climers around. A Dwarf, Angus of the Mountains. Stampy tells us he's currently climbing Kyrik's volcano. We search the area hoping he's still alive. Up near the top fo the peak, we find the remants of his camp. Reading tracks indicates it was here shortly before the eruption. Haeraan drools in the middle of his camp. He sees this dwarf hanging around pre-eruption. Suddenly, we set the mountain afire, and he sees the devastation. He runs away from the lava flows, and the boulders and ash, and a crack opens up, and he dives into it, and it closes up and the magma flows over it.
Oathar sees an open cavern down there. We corridor down there. It looks like a partly collapses cavern is here. We look around for the dwarf. Haeraan sees that he falls into the cavern. He gets sealed in. He looks around, brushes himself off, counts his inventory, and heads off down into the cavernous darkness. We follow his tracks down down down. After a while it connects up with some natural caverns. We go a little further and Imre spots a splotch of something off to the side. It's a bloodstain on the wall. Haeraan does his thing. Angus comes by this spot and a bunch of Trogli attack. Angus brains several of them, but more show up, and he flees down that side passage. We head down the corridor and in the distance we hear drums. We track futher towards the drums. Haeraan sends a vision point down ahead of us.
There's a giant cavern filled with Trogli. At one end is a big stone throne. Sitting on the throne is an Earth Demon. Standing before him is Angus. They are arguing. The arguement is in dwarvish. The demon tells the dwarf to earn his keep. They know there are hidden treasures in these mountains. Show them to us. Angus says he isn't from these mountains and knows nothing. Imre thinks he's a type VI plus.
We come to negotiate for the dwarf! How dare you invade my domain. Step forth so that I might consume your bones. Turn over the dwarf and we will leave in peace. How dare you make demands in my domain. Oathar asks for his name. I will never give out my name. Angus fawns at both sides hoping to live. The demon demands a smoking heart of the mountain. It's a crystalized stone that has been compressed and imbued with magic, usually with magic because an essense flow passed through a magma flow or gem formation.
Oathar says send forth your champion. Teh demon claps his hands together and a giant crack opens and the trogli run away. Oh look, he summons the Tentacles of Cthun, impreisoned under the earth.
We fight tentacles. Tentacles grab the dwarf. We fight! Eyes come out of the ground firign beams at us and then another tentacle comes from the earth and grabs Haeraan. Imre severs the tentacle. Oathar short doors the dwarf to himself. We fight tentacles. Imre casts Mass Eye Disruption. Most of the evil eyes pop. Ugh. A giant eye rises up in the center. It's horrible to behold!
We flee! We grab Angus and teleport away! We stash Angus in Santa Vallandra. We put him up in our luxury recovery ward or (prison hospital).
