In which our heroes ...
Orhan 1 Day 20 TE 6057
Well, things aren't good in selkai. One of the mutual's silversmiths
is murdered, and a mysterious fire is started at the shipyards (also owned
by the mutual fund). Meanwhile an unidentified body has been found in
teh river completely drained of blood.
Oathar does a death tales on the corpse of the silver smith and finds
he was killed by a mist formed Diar who just pointed at him. Oh dear.
Imre asks around trying to find where the guy was found. Some of the
city guards just think it was a rumor. Others say, "Yeah, there was
a bloodless body." Even the ones who saw it aren't sure where it
was found though. Imre finds out where it is and does a death's tale on
the grave. Hey wait! There's no body down there! Imre make a bribery attempt
to get them to to exhume the supposed body, and they check. They dig for
an hour and eventually find the grave to be empty. Hmm, wood splinters
instead of a coffin.
Hrmm.
Well, the shipyard seems straight forward. It was torched. Bah. Damn
bod guys. Oathar pays the damages out of mutual funds. (350 gold)
Haeraan wanders around town looking for enemies, but doesn't find any.
We head to Veriak.
Veriak does a nice reading for us. He sees the influence of an undead
present. He sees also a big club hovering over Oathar's head. Many voices
behind the club saying, "Hit him! Hit him!" He doesn't see any
connections between the club and the vampire though. After a while the
club turns into a flaming club. Oh dear.
Near the end of Alynna's next library shift a stranger drops a piece
of paper as he passes her. She picks it up and finds that it folded with
a seal. Black wax with a complicated pattern that moves and is oddly fascinating.
How strange... The other monk on duty tries to wake her up but she's quite
fascinated by it... Then he's also quite fascinated by it. Oh dear, both
Changramai were mesmerized. Suddenly the librarians are tugging on their
sleeves and they wake up. The guy who dropped it is there requesting it
with a librarian. The library then closes and the changramai night shift
shows up and Alynna goes home.
Orhan 1 Day 21 TE 6057
Imre and Oathar hire guardmen. Several (er.. many) are found to be working
for other houses. They flee. Sigh. But we get some guards hired.
Haeraan dreams of bats. Evil bats that chomp baby birds in nests. Chomp.
Orhan 1 Day 22 TE 6057
Haeraan goes to his temple to report all this and finds that everyone
of import has been called away on mysterious business. Hmm, they left
a note and went off leaving the temple in charge of a minor priest. Very
strange. The high priest had some plans for this time too, and suddenly
changed all of his plans and left. The last he was heard of, the high
priest was doing some research in the library.
Haeraan investigates their quarters. Inside he finds an unopened letter
to the high priest. He stares at it and finds it quite fascinating. Oathar
takes it and finds the same. They finally get a clue and cast dispel mentalism.
Oathar examines the letter.
They find the letter is a week old, was made in Sel'Kai, and in addition
to mesmerizing people, makes them more vulnerable to mind control, while
informing it's master of who it got. It was created by Abruza. Oh dear.
We brief Coran Maas, but don't have a lot to give him as the letter has
stopped working by the time we get there.
Orhan 1 Day 23 TE 6057
Haeraan prays at his temple to Rianne. Suddenly a little angel materializes
on the altar. "Truly we a blessed." The angel says, "Warning!
The night of the third moon is in two nights. Your enemy plans to sacrifice
them on the night of the third moon! You must find them!" Haeraan
asks how far they are, and is told to look underneath the houses of the
rich men.
Orhan 1 Day 24 TE 6057
Criss-crossing Blackoak (the rich district) with morning star. Haeraan
immediately says "House Dolnigen -- three vampires" Oh dear.
Haeraan briefs Coran Maas on the vampire situation. He basically tells
us that he can't intervene before the fact without direct proof. If people
take action on their own, and find physical evidence, there might be pardons
granted..... if all went well.
OK then, we invade House Dolnigen manor. We sleep lot's of guards and
battle three vampires. We win!!! Yay! In there are the High priest and
two others of the temple of Rhianne.
We take the priests back to the temple as Coran Maas sweeps in to deal
with the invaded villa.
News reports indicate several dead vampires were found in house Dolnigen.
They believe that the grey ring or the nine raided the house. Representatives
of the house deny all involvement with everything. The head of the house
is away in their summer house.
