And here is the beginning of the end. My friend, Tom, came to meet me in Ulm to travel with me to some random places in Europe before I went home. My last day in Ulm, we climbed to the top of the infamous Ulmer Münster.
Here I am, leaning up against the column that holds the final
staircase. That last stairway took an hour to climb, not because it
was tall, but because it was so busy and crowded. That's what I get
for waiting until the last minute.
This is the Danube. The Biergarten I used to go, Tagesblatt, to is
on the far side of the near bridge.
And to give you some idea of how tall it is, those two towers are
part of the same cathedral, and are pretty tall in and of
themselves.
