Ever turn to our channel and there was nothing on?
What if we told you there is a way to put something on right now!!!
Here's how it works...
See that applet up there? It lists some show titles. Click the titles to find out more about the programs.
Click once the "Put it on!" button next to the program you want to watch. The button text will change to the time the show will come on.
Click the same button again, and the button becomes a countdown stopwatch to airtime.
Turn on your TV to MIT Channel 36 (MITV)
When the stopwatch reaches zero, the program you selected will come on the air.
Sit back and watch the program you selected on the one and only MITV!
There are certain rules one must follow in order to successfully survive using the Button...
You must view this applet from MIT for the Put it on! buttons to
be enabled!
The Button is exclusively a Java applet. It is not available as Shockwave, ActiveX, or a stand alone application at this time. It will never,
ever be converted to HTML forms. Tough.
If you like our programs, or if you hate them, you have to tell us. If you don't, we'll probably end up putting stuff on that you don't like, and then if you don't like what we have to offer, you have no one to blame but yourself. And no-one wants that. So send email to Student Cable and tell us what you like/dislike!
Any comments, questions, or bug reports regarding the Button itself should be e-mailed to ldgabbay@mit.edu directly. Not only did he write the darned thing, but he's the only one who has any clue how it works. If only he would put more comments in his code...
