Joint Degree/Special Programs

The Leaders for Manufacturing Program is a dual-degree program between the Sloan School and the Engineering School. Upon graduation graduates receive two Master of Science degrees--one in management, the other in one of six engineering disciplines. Candidates apply either through the Sloan School or through any of the six engineering departments. The program is two years full time, including a six-month internship at one of the LFM partnership companies.

Some students have combined their work at Sloan with other degree programs at MIT. Examples include course work with the Center for Real Estate, the Technology and Policy Program, and the Center for Transportation Studies.

Also, students have combined their work with programs outside of MIT--including Harvard, Boston College, or Boston University law schools; the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard; the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts; and Harvard Business School. Sloan does not offer "joint" admissions with these programs; it is the candidate's responsibility to apply to other programs separately, and to design a dual degree program that will satisfy degree requirements at both programs.
