DESCRIPTION: Searching for Yamhill Farms and the Granger’s barn in Carlton, Oregon, I found Dolly and Mel Wasson, who came to Carlton from Oklahoma in the 1930s and met in the strawberry fields. Mel showed me a room he had dedicated to Carlton’s history and signed my copy of the local history he helped write. Mel worked in the Carlton sawmill (now closed).
