Alison Brauneis joined Professor Graham Walker’s MIT Education Group in June 2011 as a postdoctoral associate. She worked as a biology specialist on STAR teaching tools and on curriculum development and assessment.
Brauneis and Lourdes Alemán worked with STAR developer Sara Bonner to expand StarBiochem for high school lessons on biological molecules. She also collaborated on the development of StarCellBio, a tool for practicing experimental design in cell and molecular biology.
MIT-Haiti workshop materials list Brauneis and Alemán as biology instructors. MIT News later identified both as members of an initiative that translated STAR and other teaching tools into Kreyòl.
