Ivica Ceraj was a developer and later an architect with MIT’s STAR program in the Office of Educational Innovation and Technology. Some MIT reports list him as Ivan Ceraj; MIT’s staff listing and project credits use Ivica.
Ceraj worked with Chuck Shubert on StarBiochem and is credited on StarGenetics and StarORF. He later helped develop StarCellBio with MIT biology researchers and built a garden pea interface for StarGenetics with Stacie Bumgarner.
MIT News reported that Ceraj helped create PDBViewer, an early protein viewer, in 2006. In 2007 he worked with civil engineering professor Markus Buehler on StarGP, a web interface for atomistic modeling used in an MIT course. MIT’s later StarMolsim case study describes StarGP as the suite’s predecessor.
Another STAR teaching tool, StarHydro, was developed with MIT professor Rafael Bras. MIT’s StarHydro project page names Bras as principal investigator and Justin Riley as a contributor.
