Justin Riley worked on MIT’s Software Tools for Academics and Researchers (STAR) team as a developer. MIT’s Office of Educational Innovation and Technology listed him as a senior developer.
Riley was the lead architect for StarMolsim, a set of atomistic simulation tools used in teaching. In 2011, he updated its interface and helped move the tools to nanoHUB. He also taught an MIT course on StarCluster, the STAR toolkit for creating computing clusters on Amazon EC2.
MIT’s StarMolsim case study traces that project to StarGP, first developed by Ivica Ceraj with professor Markus Buehler. OEIT also credits Riley as a contributor to StarHydro, developed with professor Rafael Bras.
