IT groups have many meetings in the name of communication and cross-functional... no wonder so little can get done sometimes. Perhaps so many people get hired in the craze to keep up with technology no one knows what they are really supposed to be doing. Anyway, this is my kind of meeting although it doesn't avoid the surprised look on their faces (they're not looking at me).

MIT's Information Systems is really run from one of several conferences rooms off campus. There's conference room left, conference room right and here at cbc -- a most excellent summertime venue. In one of the great synergies (Hefeweisen summer special) of the facility we're joined by the OKI group and the telecommunications department, putting together most of the rebel-rousers from the campus cabling plant up through application development. Nothing but trouble comes out of this.
