Hongmei Yang

Hongmei Yang received her B.E. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in 2003. She received her M.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University under the supervision of Prof. Dafang Zhong in 2006. In 2012, she earned her Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry (mass spectrometry) from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS, under the supervision of Prof. Shuying Liu. She is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Chinese Mass Spectrometry Society (in Chinese) and is a member of the Council of the Chinese Society for Mass Spectrometry.

Currently, Hongmei Yang is a Senior Postdoctoral Associate at MIT in the Department of Biological Engineering in the Tannenbaum lab. She is using the SNOTRAP technique in conjunction with mass spectrometry to identify specific modified cysteine sites to further understand the mechanisms and pathological signaling pathways involved in Alzheimer's disease.
