TOPICWhich Hewlett-Packard PCL-compatible fonts, styles, and sizes are included in Apple's PCL-compatible LaserWriter printers?
DISCUSSIONHere is a table that shows the PCL fonts available for PCL-compatible LaserWriter printers.
NOTES: (1) There is actually a problem with the HP emulator that inadvertently allows access to the Helvetica and Times-Roman fonts. You can access these two fonts through the same PCL escape code command to change typefaces.
PCL Escape CodesIn terms of styles and sizes, Apple supports the PCL escape codes listed below for font manipulation:
(s#T : typeface selection (#= 3-Courier,4-Helvetica, 5-Times-Roman) (s#H : pitch selection (#= usually 10 or 16.66 built-in) (s#V : character height (#= Font Size in points) (s#B : stroke weight (#= -7 to 7 for BOLD style) (s0P : proportional spacing OFF (s1P : proportional spacing ON (s0S : italic OFF (s1S : italic ON &d@ : underlining OFF &dD : underlining ON Apple also supports a variety of symbol sets (i.e. USASCII, PC-8 US, etc.) which are different types of characters available as part of the different fonts. These characters include mathematical symbols, foreign language accented characters, etc. (# : change Symbol Set (#= symbol set as listed below)
In the PCL commands and Symbol Set list above, 0 represents the numeral zero, not the upper-case letter O. Also, represents the ESCAPE or esc character.
