These mini-nursery strips reach out through the backyards of the housing projects that are directly adjacent to Sulzberger. They provide greenery as well as space for hanging laundry, while actively involving a larger community more actively in the school's urban reforesting projects.

Each fenced in area serves two houses. The houses are configured such that each is the mirror image of its neighbor, and so doors are paired. The cuts between the mini-nurseries line up with the doorways and provide for cross-circulation.

Laundry lines rise above the low, 4' fences, and so area accessible from outside.
