REVEALING URBAN WATERS
Revealing Urban Waters is a public water works project designed for the Mill Creek area of West Philadelphia. Its aim is to improve the neighborhood and bring public attention to the subject of water in the city.
The water works would be a network of elements spread throughout the neighborhood; each providing a different service or dealing with varying water issues.
Many areas in the neighborhood would become parks which, during heavy rainfall, would serve as retention basins.
Some streets would be permanently transformed into canals.
A series of canals would be interconnected to form swimming pools located directly on the street.
