Stormwater detention is accomplished using a series of channels which successively overflow. Water is collected from large grated basins which stretch across 48th St. and Brown St. Subsurface detention under the basketball courts overflow through a seep wall into the main channel.
The main channel overflows into the baseball field before flowing through the other channels. The final basin at the low point behind Sulzberger Middle School overflows into the sewer.
