My decision to photograph hydrants was based on a number of considerations:
1) I wanted photographs of the neighborhood to accompany the texts and to provide some visual sense of the space;
2) I do not like photographing people I don't know;
3) buildings alone seemed flat;
4) I wanted the photos to have some logic of their own that also related to my route.

SO, I chose fire hydrants.
Fire hydrants are placed in an area according to their own logic. They are installed by the city, so nobody hassled me for taking their pictures. By using a 28mm lense, I was able to photograph the hydrants and also capture their environs.
