JIN-HYUNG CHON

I went to the site with Matt Tom and Chris in Tom's car...and I went again with Matt this morning on our bikes...from 11 to 12:30...
I couldn't understand about Mill Creek until I went there...I couldn't understand what we do for them...or the title "revealing"...very abstract...but I got some information and talked with my group members an now my understanding is much better...I heard that it's a dangerous place...I actually live on 43rd and Chestnut...
In my country, I can walk around at 3 or 4 in the morning and not feel in danger...but here I sometimes don't go out after 9 or 10...I have never heard a gun shot before except in the military service...here I hear shots about twice a week...
I came here on July 4th...American Independence Day...two weeks later one American little girl died in the backyard of my building...it was a rainy day...a man was drunk and had drugs and killed her for no reason...it wasn't his daughter...according to the police there was no reason...
At the beginning of August, a BMW burned down on my corner...I heard the explosion at 2 am...in the morning when it was bright I went to see it...I don't like this city...
In my country there are lots of problems but not this kind...less crime...traffic jams...drugs are unusual - maybe just movie stars and singers...alcoholism is more common...beer is very popular...or Korean alcohol soju...
Most of the places I've been to before were safer...I traveled alone...France, Italy, England, Austria, Hungary, Norway and Germany...I have a brother in West Virginia and he says that he comes from the library at 12 or 1 am and feels safe...also my friend in Davis University told me that he doesn't feel any danger there...
This studio is a good opportunity for me...maybe if I had a choice I wouldn't have chosen this class but it is mandatory...I am interested in urban parks and urban forestry...I guess I am surprised by the site...I expected a broad clear place...Mill Creek is dangerous and tough...I saw the portfolios of my friends who studied here...their work is about Fairmount Park so at the beginning I was surprised by this project...
