Plants are not only elements of decoration but they serve as a number of vital roles such as creating outdoor space, screening or enframing views, influencing air quality, stablizing soil, and affecting microclimate. They influence energy consumption plus act as compositional elements in the design of outdoor areas. Plants are one of the most important systems that our environment consists of.

Major trees in Mill Creek neighborhood : Sycamore, Honey Locust, Basswood, Chinese scholar tree, Gingko, Norway maple, Red oak, Sweetgum, Chinese elm, etc. Most of them are decidious, fairly large, and in good conditions.
