DETAIL DESIGN CONCEPT
I choose 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th holes for detail design. Each hole represents an event. In the 10th hole, the closer the hole, the denser the black poles. These poles symbolize African-american migration. The 11th hole represents forgetting mill creek. The wall express people's oblivion of underground flowing water. The 12th hole means collapsing and revealing underground water in negative way. The 13th hole express Louis Kahn's project.
PLANTING
These 9 holes follow three sequences : forgetting water(dry environment), trying to reveal water(transition environment), revealing water(wet environment).
For the dry environment, I use gravel, sand and loam not using plants. Then, I plant meadows, grasses for the transition environment. To express revealing water, I plant herbs and perennials. I use canopy trees, understory trees and shrubs to divide space.
