In my point of view, roads and streams have something in common with each other : First, they sometimes interupt people's action. We need a bridge or a street crossing to cross either a stream or a road. Second, something is always flowing on these whether it is a car, people or water.

Water provides various kinds of pleasure because it has various kinds of characters;Pleasure of seeing it(well designed fountains, exciting water place), pleasure of hearing it (fountains, cascades, water falls), pleasure of touching it, pleasure of using it(swimming, playing).

The Mill Creek, now, is covered with roads and houses. Thus, it is impossible to restore the Mill Creek thoroughly at this point. I suppose that the roads on its streambed is a kind of water flowing. In other words, I think that the roads could symbolize water. I have tried to put a water element beside the roads. So, people can experience water and feel the existance of water.





A shallow stream near a village can be used as a playground.








We can bring up the image of water by using moisture-loving plants without the existence of water.
