La'Shea Cruse
Mill Ceek Project

842N.42nd St

La'Shea Cruse will fix the Mill creek up and make it look very nice. Anybody can come and help if they want to but I will like them to come see what we are going to do for the area. We can make it look a lot nicer. I will fix the pool and grow some flowers. I will grow a flower garden for the community. I will have two pools; one for the little kids and the other for tennagers and adults. I will fix the playground. The kids can play basball and other games on the payground to have fun. I know that I did not have a playgound in my community. My garden would have alot of water and sun so that the flowers can grow better. I like helping kids do fun things like my mom always did with me.

This area used to be a big forest. The Indians grew their food and hunted and fished in the Schuylkill River and Mill Creek. They grew fields of corn, squash and beans. Lancaster Avenue is an old foot path. They travelled from village to village. The Indians left in 1740 but there is still evidence of their occupation of the landscape today. There are places in Philadelphia with Indians names such as Wyldusin
