My name is Ali Hassan. I live in the Mill Creek neighborhood. I walk in this neighborhood every day, and what I see today is not the same as what I would have seen in the 1600's. The land would have been open, the Indians inhabited the land, and the Mill Creek was running above ground

In the 1860's, people decided to cover the Mill Creek and build houses over it, not thinking of what could happen. Now, the pipes that were used to do this are cracking and there is flooding everywhere: in basements and in the streets. This is causing houses to cave in. That is one of the reasons I am designing a water garden, to prevent flooding and make my neighborhood better for all kinds of people

My garden will have water spray to spray the garden and people in it. Flowers, plants, streams, waterfalls and steps in the garden will be where all the water goes to. Then it will go to water drains, and back to the tubes in the garden.
