coloring: green to yellow above with random mottling of darker gray,belly is white to cream

voice: deep pitched jug o rum

habitat: ponds, lakes, slow moving streams with sufficient vegetation, lays eggs in brush and stumps whose roots are at the water's edge, especially of willow tree, and under yellow water lilies

food source: insects, crayfish, other frogs, minnows, large ones can eat small birds and young snakes.
