2001 Harvard-MIT Math Tournament ResultsHere are the final results from the 2001 contest:
- Individual, Team, and Sweepstakes
- It appears someone claimed the General and Oral results sheets from the awards ceremony as a souvenir. Whoever you are, it's your fault they're not posted here.
ErrataUnfortunately we're not perfect, so there were a few mistakes. Here are a few corrections: [Note: awards given at the awards ceremony are final.] - Advanced Topics #1/Algebra #1. The system is overdetermined, so no such x and y exist.
- Advanced Topics #8/Algebra #9. The answer is 9, not 10, since we need n+1<11.
- Calculus #1. The word "radius" should have said diameter.
- Calculus #2. The answer should be 0.
- Calculus #4 didn't specify whether size meant area or dimensions.
- Geometry #1. pi^2 in the answer is a typo, should be pi.
- Geometry #2. The solution is incorrect.
- General I #6 is underdetermined.
- One of the team questions defined the Lucas number as starting 1,2, when in fact they are defined as starting 2,1.
