Pick Up Your Hat was launched via a chance meeting through a blues band performance class organized by the wonderful Morningside Music Studio in Arlington Massachusetts. When the class unexpectedly ended due to the pandemic, guitarist Rich Caloggero, bassist Dale Kutyna, and drummer Goody Sinclair decided to start a band.
They have played three Porchfest gigs and continue to work up new material, straying quite far from the blues.
Please welcome Shady Hartshorne. He's a keyboardist, singer, and song writer who will accompany us on gigs when he can. His other band is The Gruvmeiners. They perform big band (acoustic) arrangements of 80s pop / rock tunes, and Shady plays accordion with them. Find them on Facebook and on Instagram.
