Mission Statement of our group:

1) Research current development of the rain forest and its consequences on the ecosystem and the economy

2) Define the Problems that we see in the current situation, based on our research, and define new goals

3) Find alternatives to the current development that will meet our new goals

We will be looking at a several issues:

Is the forest/land that has been destroyed being used efficiently?
What can we learn from native practices and history?
How can we use the resources of the rain forest to promote sustainable development of local population/societies/economies?
What compromises do we have to make to balance the needs of the forest, the native people and the foreign investment?
How can we work with other teams to ensure that every aspect is being addressed?
