MISSION 2006

ALTERNATIVE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

MISSION 2006
Welcome to Group 8's Website!  We are a subset of the larger project of Mission 2006.  The goal of Mission 2006 is to develop a way to characterize and monitor the well-being of the Amazon Basin rainforest ecosystem and devise a set of practical strategies to ensure its preservation.  Our team is focusing specifically on the topic of alternative development strategies.  Our work will include finding ways that the Amazon can be sustainably developed for the benefit of humans and finding ways in which we can avoid bringing development into areas of the Amazon.  Our full mission statement can be read here.
