Research for Week of October 2nd, 2002: (as of October 2nd, 2002)

I am trying to compile a comprehensive list of environmental groups that relate to our projects:

I would also like to develope information packets that can be distributed to these target groups as well as the general public:

Rainforestweb.org (I find this site to be very informative about rainforests. It is also possible for others to add new resources and postings to this site.

LBA (The Large Scale Biosphere-Atmoshpere Experiment in Amazonia) (This is an ongoing international research initiative led by Brazil. It would be useful to look into what organizations are involved. They also have a vast amount of experimental data that is very useful for any group's research.)
INPA (National Institute of Amazon Research) (This site is in Portuguese, so I am having some trouble understanding its role. However, this institute seems to be organized by the Brazilian government.)
IBAMA (The Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Resources) (Again, the site is in Portuguese. They have many projects relating to the conservation of the rainforest.)
Embrapa (The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) (Its mission is to provide feasible solutions for the sustainable development of the Brazilian agribusiness by generating, adapting and transferring knowledge and technology that benefits the Brazilian Society.)
