ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
Summary: The EPA, in its current
form, was established in 1970. The EPA has many purposes. Its
main purpose is to protect the environment, including lands designated as
protected by the government. To protect these areas effectively the
EPA is always conducting research to fulfill their duties as well as possible.
Purpose: Since the EPA is charged
with protecting wilderness/refuge lands a little background research was
in line.
Relevance: There isn't much direct
application of this research to Mission. It is helpful, though, to
know what the EPA is and where to find more information if necessary.
