Energy

You might wonder why I have seven pages on design all compressed onto a single page, and then put energy of on its own. This topic is one that interests me particularly, as it is has become something often viewed as a cornerstone of civilization and survival. It is also something that has not been a part of civilization for very long. Looking at how much energy where and why, what sources, and what advantages proves to be a good adventure. Sorting out what a communities attachment to energy is, and how changes in its availability change the dynamics of the way people relate with themselves and the environment turns also turns out to be pretty neat.

Geothermal Energy

The following people were contacted in an attempt to appreciate whether or not geothermal heat sources could potentially be used given the high volcanic activity of both Fernandina and Isabela islands.

Geothermal Resource Council (Ted Clutter, Executive director)

Geothermal heat pump consortium

Lifetime energy LLC
International Geothermal Organization

Facilitation of contacts with geothermal experts worldwide; newsletters, publications, meetings and congresses

IGA Secretariat, c/o Enel GreenPower, Via A. Pisano 120, Pisa, Italy 56122

I received a most useful e-mail back from the Secretariat. It will be posted as soon as I can find it.

Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST)
