Biopreservation

tortueWelcome to my underdeveloped web page (it may stay this way!).
As a member of  Las tortugas team 2, my task  in general involves doing research on the threats to the ecosystem of  the Galapagos Islands, looking specifically at the Fernandina and Isabela islands. Principally, I'll be doing research on the marine environment, looking at  how illegal fishing, oil spills, harbors, boats and the like have affected the ecosystem negatively.
Other than this, I'll be looking at how non-native species have evolved in the islands and how they have affected the native species.  Poaching and hunting are also key topics I will be doing research on. Because there is a possibility of native species being taken away from the islands, this will also be a key element in my research .
Material on this website will be presented in such a way as to enable the reader know the source of all information on the pages.
Read on!
