Coolant Calamity

The world hoppers open the door and are immediately met with a blast of torrid air; it seems like the disaster isn't over quite yet.

The brilliant world hoppers notice that the room's piping appears to have been blasted from the wall in a steam explosion, but water is flowing into the room near where the hoppers entered.

The same voice from the first room enjoins the world hoppers: "Unit 2 appears to be intact, but the temperature is rapidly rising! Our engineers tell us that we must re-establish a pathway for the coolant to reach the reactor's core."

The hoppers begin re-establishing the connections by fitting pipes to the broken connections on the wall, but the core temperature is rising too fast!

One of the keen world hoppers spots a bucket in the corner of the room; could that be used to stave off disaster while the connection is re-established?

Two world hoppers work diligently to re-establish a firm connection to the reactor's core while the third world hopper frantically shuttles water back and forth to the core inlet to keep the temperature from reaching its critical point

The world hoppers fit the final pipe in place and turn to the temperature gauge anxiously to see if their efforts have prevented another disaster...

... slowly, the temperature increase stops and begins to reverse. The world hoppers feel a blast of cool air as the temperature falls back down to acceptable levels.

"Once again, you have saved the day comrades. We have one more piece of troubling news however... it appears that this was no accident; several safeguards were overridden in an attempt to ruin the commissioning of the plant's newest unit."
