Rachael eye's twinkle as she
looks at the mouse again. She goes to the stove, grabs the trap under
it and turns it over to the listing of the stuff in the glue.
"So what's
your big idea?" asks Sean impatiently, sarcasm icing his words.
"Huh?" she
shakes herself away from her thoughts. "Well, I think I know a way
to dilute this glue and get it to come off. Then we could just let the
mouse go outside."
"Oh so I went
through all this trouble just to see it come back again, did I?" He asks.
"I think after
all you've put it through it'd rather die than come back. Come on Sean,
look really really deep inside. You think you might find some tiny inkling
of compassion? I mean.."
"The skills
of the material scientist. Rache, I see you're learning something
in this school." Joey interrupts, hoping to avoid an argument
between the two. "Great idea. Wonderful. Now let's just do something practical,
shall we?"
Sean ignores them, a mischievous
gleam in his eye.
"Come on guys
it's worth a shot.." Rachael insists. "What the hell
did that mouse ever do to you anyway? I'll just go get some of that
stuff from Jamie. He's doing his project and "borrowed" some chemicals
from lab."
She looks at Sean who,for the sake of salvaging his reputation,
nods his agreement.
"I'll go check
if he has what we need." she says enthusiastically, already halfway out
the door lest Sean change his mind.
"Hey Joey,
you think that might might work? it'd be pretty cool to see." Making sure
that Rachael is out of earshot, he adds "Hehe, the chemicals might
react with the fur and stuff too."
"Shut up Sean."
Joey replies, bored with the whole thing.
